Send a private message to @brightengkk on X. This is the contact route published on Sihan Teng’s website. An X account may be required to send a message. Use this channel for app support, accessibility issues, and privacy requests; do not post sensitive information in a public reply.
For a bug report, include your Reader version, iPhone or iPad model, iOS or iPadOS version, whether the book is PDF or EPUB, the steps you took, and the error message. A screenshot with personal content hidden can help. Do not send passwords, sign-in codes, account tokens, or a complete book.
A PDF or EPUB will not import
Use Import in the Library and choose a PDF or EPUB from Files. If the file is in a cloud provider, make sure it has downloaded and can be opened. A damaged, protected, or unsupported document may fail to load. Try a known-good file to distinguish a document problem from an app problem. See the import guide.
ChatGPT will not connect or respond
Open Reader’s Settings and check the AI and Account sections. Complete sign-in on OpenAI’s page, return to Reader, and select a model available to your account. Device-code login must be permitted by your ChatGPT security settings or workspace. Use Test Connection to check the chosen model.
An access error can mean the account or selected model is not eligible. A usage-limit error needs to be handled under the provider’s limits. Reader cannot grant an entitlement, bypass a limit, or guarantee that a subscription supports this connection. Do not keep retrying a denied request. See the ChatGPT reading guide.
PDF text cannot be selected
A scanned page may be an image without selectable text. Reader’s passage actions need a text selection; the app does not currently advertise built-in OCR. A PDF’s reading order may also differ from its visual layout. Try a PDF with an existing text layer, or obtain an accessible EPUB from the publisher.
Remove data or disconnect an account
To stop sending reading content to ChatGPT, open Settings → Privacy & Support → Stop sharing reading content. This leaves ordinary reading, notes, and bookmarks available. You can review the permission and allow sharing again later.
Use a book’s Delete action in the Library to remove its imported file and library entry. Remove saved notes and bookmarks separately in the Notebook. Use Disconnect account in AI settings to remove Reader’s local ChatGPT credentials. Source files, backups, and information already held by a provider are separate.
